CAFETERIA POLICY

 In conjunction with the NC Healthful Living Curriculum and the rising incidence of obesity in elementary age students, North Elementary School is promoting a healthy eating lifestyle. Parents and students will not be permitted to bring fast food or soft drinks (in the original containers) into the cafeteria.

For parent convenience and to help the cafeteria operate more effectively, each student is assigned a lunch account number. Parents may send in money to be placed on this account or use the approved on-line payment system. This money can be used for extras.

Breakfast and lunch are provided daily in the school cafeteria for any child. Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM until 8:20 AM. Students who wish to eat breakfast should report directly to their classroom, check-in, and then report to the cafeteria. Each class is assigned a 30-minute period each day for lunch.

All Caswell County elementary schools will be participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) this school year.  Regardless of their meal status, all students will be eligible for ONE FREE breakfast and lunch per day during the school year. Any extra food must be paid for at the time of purchase.  Supplemental items and adult prices remain the same.

A la Carte items will continue to be sold in the cafeteria at the same cost last school year. 

Adult Breakfast - $1.60 ($8.00/week)                   Adult Lunch - $3.45 ($17.25/week)
